{"id":157,"date":"2010-05-10T02:07:31","date_gmt":"2010-05-10T09:07:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.digitalview.com\/blog\/?p=157"},"modified":"2010-05-10T02:10:42","modified_gmt":"2010-05-10T09:10:42","slug":"launch-of-screens-green-screen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.digitalview.website\/blog\/launch-of-screens-green-screen\/","title":{"rendered":"Launch of Screen&#8217;s &#8216;Green Screen&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a move that has quickly attracted some <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-158\" title=\"green-screen-label\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.digitalview.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/green-screen-label.jpg?resize=174%2C129\" alt=\"green-screen-label\" width=\"174\" height=\"129\" \/>well known major digital signage companies the Screen launched the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thescreen.org\/green-screen\/index\" target=\"_blank\">Green Screen<\/a> initiative at ScreenExpo in London on 5 May 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Digital View is a major sponsor of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thescreen.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Screen<\/a> and I was pleased to be able to introduce one of the &#8217;12 Steps&#8217; (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thescreen.org\/green-screen\/12steps\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> for details). As a media player provider for the digital signage market we took to championing Step 6 which states &#8216;Computing power has been kept to a minimum, lower power computers generating less heat, needing less cooling and lasting longer&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst Digital View plays an important role in enabling quite a number of the Steps number 6 is very appropriate given the low power solid state <a href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalview.com\/products\/viewstream-digital-media-players\" target=\"_blank\">ViewStream<\/a> players. These consume as little as 4.8W when playing video and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalview.com\/products\/viewstream-digital-media-players\" target=\"_blank\">ViewStream 500<\/a> only consumes 6W when playing full 1080p video.
